THE MAIN FEATURES OF A

FOSSIBLE CPA SERVICE ON THE ROUTE

1. Introduction

1.1

Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd have, at the request of the H.K. Government, determined the following main features of a possible scheduled service by CPA on the cabotage route which, in the view of the Hong Kong Government would help to satisfy the needs of the local market for air services between Hong Kong and London.

2. Scheduled Service (Stage 1)

2.1

Initially, CPA might operate a fast one-stop service between Hong Kong and London, starting in December 1979, with B707 aircraft. The intermediate point would be Bahrain as a technical stop only. To meet the mounting local demands, emphasis would be placed on punctuality of service with no effort spared to ensure on-time performance.

Frequency

CPA might operate on a schedule of 3 return flights per week and extra sections would be provided to cater for extra demand.
