As I have pointed out in my telegram No. 600 of May 18, the reasonableness of the approved Flying Tiger filing is now being called into question. Ι believe that Flying Tiger is now thinking of yet another filing which would provide for rates reduced by about 2 from those already approved. This will lend fuel to the suspicion that the airlines are taking consumers for a ride and that WG and the Hong Kong Government are not doin enough to protect consumer interests.

I should be grateful for your reactions to the suggestion in paragraph 4 above and for any other bright ideas which you may have on solving this roblem. What is very clear is that the political pressures are mounting in Hong Kong and the present situation cannot be tenable for much longer.
