ANNEX TO XCR (79)130

Amend the Merchant Shipping Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the

advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

Short title and

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Merchant

commencement. Shipping (Amendment) (No. 2) Ordinance 1979 and shall

come into operation on a day to be appointed by the

Governor by notice in the Gazette.

Amendment of section 2. (Cap. 281.)

2. Section 2 of the principal Ordinance is

amended in the definition of "Merchant Shipping Acts"

by deleting "1960" and substituting the following

"1979".

Amendment of section 27.

Section 27 of the principal Ordinance is

amended by deleting subsections (3), (5) and (6).

Amendment of section 38.

4.

Section 38(3) of the principal Ordinance is

amended by deleting ", and the International Convention

for the Safety of Life at Sea, 1948,".

Addition of new sections 38A, 38B

and 38C.

5. The principal Ordinance is amended by adding

after section 38 the following sections -
