A BILL
To
Amend the Merchant Shipping Ordinance.
Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the
advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.
Short title.
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Merchant
Shipping (Amendment) Ordinance 1979.
Amendment of section 34.
(Cap. 281.)
2.
Section 34 of the principal Ordinance is
amended
(a) in subsection (1), by deleting "6 months"
and substituting the following
"2 years";
(b) by inserting after subsection (2) the
following subsection
"(3) For the purposes of this section -
(a)
every person carried in a ship,
other than
(i) a person employed or engaged
in any capacity on board the ship
on the business of the ship; and
