There will almost certainly
and has accepted that rises are necessary. be objections to the increases: the se will come particularly from residents in areas served by Cutlying District services, who are expected to object both to the passenger and the freight increases. Islanders tend also to believe that profitable islands routes subsidise other routes. Nevertheless the prevailing reaction of the public is expected to be one of grudging acceptance. Fublicity will concentrate on the dramatic increase in operating costs in the past year. It may also be directed to the varying contributions made to overheads by different services (paragraphs 27 - 29).
