The involvement of Mrs. Elsie Elliott, Mr. Augustine CHUNG and the visiting British MPs may have raised the hope of major Government concessions amongst the hard-core. However, this has been balanced by a firm Government stand in negotiation and in public statements. Government has made it clear that it is not prepared to further amend its basic terms to accommodate the militant few.
