1.11. (a) The Corporation shall provide and

maintain adequate automatic equipment for the

collection of fares and the issue and collection

of tickets..

(b)

Notwithstanding the provisions of

of paragraph (1) the Corporation may collect

fares and issue and collect tickets manually

in the case of a breakdown of the

automatic equipment, provided such

(i)

(ii)

equipment is restored to use as soon as

is reasonably practicable; and

in the case where the design of the

station provides adequate floor area, as

far as is reasonably forseeable, to

accommodate slow-moving passenger traffic

and to prevent over-crowding at station

entrances.
