VISIT OF HEAD OF HKGD TO HONG KONG

1.

During a telephone call to the Governor today, I asked his view on the timing of my familiarisation visit to Hong Kong. He thought that I should wait until after Princess Alexandra's visit and the Chinese New Year. I should then go out for 10 working days. In practice this would mean going on the weekend of 16/17 February and returning on 1/2 March.

2.

The At present it looks as though this would be feasible. main problem is the timing of Mr Quantrill's departure. I have spoken to POD asking that if possible they delay this until the beginning of March. They will try to do this.

Does this idea look reasonable to you?
