Mr Li Fook-kow CMG JP Secretary for Home Affairs since 1977.

Born 1922. Entered Hong Kong Civil Service 1954, and now its

most senior Chinese officer. Has worked in many Government

Departments and has a very wide knowledge of the local scene.

Mr D A Akers-Jones CMG JP

since 1974. Born 1927.

Secretary for the New Territories

Served in Malaya before coming to

2 Hong Kong in 1957. Much of his career has been spent in the

New Territories, where he is highly respected.

Sir Yuet-Keung Kan GBE JP

Solicitor and Banker. Born 1913

in Hong Kong. Has been active in public life since 1947 and

a member of Exco since 1966. Very much the elder statesman

of Hong Kong and held in high esteem by all sections of the

community. His advice is much valued by the Governor, whomhe

accompanied to Peking earlier this year. Made a GBE in this

years Birthday Honours the first Hong Kong Chinese ever to

be awarded so high an honour.

Sir Sze-yuen Chung CBE JP

Engineer and Company Director.

Born 1917 in Hong Kong. On Exco since 1972. A self-made man

who will succeed Sir Y K Kan when he retires as Senior Un-

official Member of Exco, probably later this year. The prime

mover behind the setting up of the very successful Hong Kong

Polytechnic.

Mr JH Bremridge CBE JP

Chairman and Managing Director of

John Swire and Sons (long Kong) Limited and Chairman of Cathay

Born 1925 in the UK. In Hong Kong since the

Pacific Airways.
