Turning to final courtesies Huang Hua said that the Chinese Government appreciated the work of Sir Murray and noted the development of relations during his tenure. He hoped that Hong Kong could play an increasing role in China's modernisation programme. Sir Murray agreed with the last point and said that he would do in his power to promote it.
