The Chamber has become very active in the China trade and joint venture business. They have

sent two delegations to China during the last year; one a general group and the second (in February/March) an Electronic Industry Study Group which went to

Tientsin.

The Chamber, on its own behalf and that of what it terms "several very large companies" has asked the Chinese to consider a proposal to establish an industrial park immediately North of Man Kam To. Their idea is that the Chinese should build feeder roads and allow the

construction and management of industrial and storage estates on a joint venture basis.

The Chamber has also publicly proposed the establishment of a Sino-Hong Kong Committee to promote

trade and industrial development.
