I am attaching a copy of a press release which was put out here on 4 June about the establishment of a new organisation called East Point Reinsurance Company Limited.

The interesting point about this is that the Chinese, in the shape of the Hing An Insurance Comperry which they control), have joined forces with the Establishment in the shape of Jardines, the Bank, etc,, in a large international reinsurance venture. i think this must rate as a first in the field.

David Newbigging, about whose visit to Peking I have written to you separately, hus been a moving spirit behind all this. He tells me that he expects to call on the People's Insurance Company of China during his visit.
