15 January about the possibility of installing national seismic stations in Hong Kong, Pitcairn Island and in a British territory close enough to monitor any South African nuclear testing.

Dr Owen has asked what arrangements already exist to monitor actual or potential nuclear testing by the Chinese, French, South Africans, Pakistanis and Indians.
