Your letter of 19th June on the proposed seminar on the future of British Dependent Territories arrived in my absence.
I am
Allow me to end the apparent delay in replying by informing you that I accept the invitation to participate as a guest of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. sure that you are aware, however, that my duties take me away from London from time to time and at very short notice, and it is therefore difficult for me to say with certainty at this moment what my official commitments would be in Sep- tember. However, if I am in London during the period of the seminar, I shall make every effort to attend.
I shall write to you again closer to the date of the
seminar.
