Mr Selwyn telephoned from Brighton to volunteer to introduce the session on the problems of small states. He said, however, that he was not sure that he wanted to cover alternatives to independence at the same time: he did not think that this was necessarily directly related. I promised to consider whether we should make alternatives to independence the subject of a separate session, which we would find someone else to introduce.
