DISCIPLINARY PROCEEDINGS

I am sorry it has taken so long to get a substantive answer to the points raised in your letter of 2 May to Robin McLaren (who is at present on leave). It seems your enquiry raised issues that the Civil Service Department themselves could not answer and the Treasury Solicitor had to be consulted. They have however now replied, and I enclose a copy of their letter. As you will see, Civil Service procedures are now being revised, but I hope the draft will give you the guidance you need. If you need any further cla rification, please let us know and we shall be glad to take the subject up again with the CSD.
