missed him. I realise of course that there is never a good time for changing the existing incumbent and that Murray MacLehose's term has already been twice extended. I am sure also that you will have given the most careful consideration to all these matters.

Finally, and if Murray MacLehose's term does come to an end next year I hope that he may be recommended for a Peerage.
