Item 5
9. The Board agreed that the Secretary of State be advised to recommend to The Queen that the term of office of the present Governor of the Cayman Islands, Mr T Russell, should be extended until May 1981. Mr Russell would then be 61. While recording their view that officers should not normally be extended beyond the age of 60, the Board felt that the local circumstances, in particular the elections due by November 1980, justified an exception in this case.
Item 6
10. The Board agreed that the Secretary of State be advised to
recommend to The Queen that the term of office of the present Governor of St Helena, Mr G C Guy, should be extended for a
further year.
