1. To fill certain Governorships which will fall vacant in

the second half of 1979 and early in 1980.

Recommendations

2.(i) That the Secretary of State should approve the following

recommendations made by the Dependent Territories Senior

Appointments Board (DTSAB) at their meeting on 4 June:-

a) Belize: Mr JP I Hennessy CMG OBE to succeed

Mr P D McEntee as Governor and Commander-in-Chief

in December 1979 or early 1980.

b) Falkland Islands: Mr R M Hunt to succeed

Mr JRW Parker as Governor and Commander-in-Chief

in December 1979.

c) Montserrat: Mr DK H Dale CBE to succeed Mr G W Jones

as Governor in January 1980.

d) Cayman Islands: The appointment of the present

Governor, Mr T Russell CBE, to be extended from

November 1979 to May 1981.

e) St Helena: The appointment of the present Governor

and Commander-in-Chief, Mr G C Guy CMG CVO OBE, to be

extended from December 1979 to December 1980.

(ii) That the Secretary of State should approve the recommendations

of the No 1 Selection Board that Mr Hennessy and Mr Hunt

should be promoted from DS4 to DS3.
