You may wish to comment before I put these papers to Mr Quantrill. As far as I can see our only course is to continue as at present, but to keep a weather eye for any particularly sticky case where duty allowance is grossly inadequate, or where a DT is refusing to pay for mid-tour leave. It was unfortunate that our case was put at precisely the time public expenditure came under the tightest scrutiny yet.
