I want to thank you for your letter of the 22nd December concerning the Hong Kong dispute. Bob Parry of Liverpool and myself had lunch with John Stewart-before the House went down and had a thorough discussion about Hong Kong affairs in all quarters. It was a most useful effort and I am glad that your letter confirms that he has suggested the Colonial Government might appoint an independent arbitrator in the dispute with the Shorthand and Audio-Typists Association. I shall see them some time, I imagine, since they are coming to London this week.
Thank you for your good wishes. I hope all your boats come home also. Happy New Year.
