Performs technical tasks contributory to design, development, manufacturing, installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment either independently or under the direction of a qualified engineer.

Ability to :-

1. Apply engineering knowledge to identify and solve electrical and associated engineering problems.

2. Design, set up and conduct experiments

and assist in design and development work.

3. Prepare estimates of quantities and costs

of materials and labour, and work schedules.

4. Supervise, control and give technical guidance to craftsmen and operatives.

5. Inspect and critically evaluate in-progress or completed work to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards.

6. Carry out winding, wiring, simple machining

and welding operations.

7. Assemble, install, test and calibrate

electrical equipment and products.

8. Maintain electrical plant and equipment.

9. Use and maintain electrical test equipment.

10. Read, interpret and prepare electrical and

mechanical drawings including systems and circuit diagrams.

11. Carry out all necessary safety precautions

in the works for which he is responsible.
