Prepares arrangement and detail drawings of machines, machine parts, tools, other mechanical equipment as well as manufactured products from sketches, specifications and existing parts.

Ability to :-

Read and interpret sketches, engineering drawings and specifications.

Sketch existing arrangements and parts of machinery and fittings.

3. Carry out engineering calculations and

analyse specifications prior to producing preliminary drawings.

4.

Prepare scale detail and assembly

drawings to specified tolerances, limits and finishes.

TRADE THEORY

5.

Use national and international standards and specifications, and relevant handbooks.

6. Prepare material list.

7. Select most appropriate standard parts

for any particular job.

8. Carry out elementary engineering design.

Knowledge of :-

Mechanical or Production Engineering including :-

(i) Manufacturing processes and

mechanical measurements.

(ii) Strength and properties of

materials.

(iii) Mechanics of machines.
