Shorthand/Audio Typists are granted one additional increment for,

(i) each 10 w.p.m. shorthand/typing speeds

in excess of 70 w.p.m. and 40 w.p.m. respectively; and,

(ii) each year's recognised shorthand/audio

typist experience.

(i) the minimum academic requirement should be reduced from five to three subjects. These should be specified and be English Language (Syllabus B), Chinese Language and Mathematics at Grade E or above in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education to establish general numeracy and literacy. Other than English no subjects are at present named so that passes in inappro- priate subjects such as domestic science, needlework and art are acceptable;
