Note: Explosions have resulted from
the careless use of ether in heroin factories, particularly where at- tempts have been made to recover it by distillation.
Hydrochloric Acid (Concentrated) Description: a colourless liquid with
an acrid odour.
Controls: Pharmacy and Poisons Ordinance, Poisons List, Part II. Dangerous Goods (Classification) Regulations, Category 3 (corrosive substances).
Note: Hydrochloric acid is corrosive and should be carefully handled. White fumes will be seen coming from the container when the stopper is removed.
