in 1977 and the number of male patients, who form the vast majority of addicts, under 19 volunteering for treatment had decreased from 12.5% in 1969 to 3.6% in 1977. In addition, only 2.5% of those attending methadone detoxification or maintenance clinics at the

end of 1976 were under 21.

6. As well as its internal efforts, in which the efforts of all those involved, both Governmental and voluntary agencies, are co-ordinated, Hong Kong plays an active role in international efforts to stamp out drug abuse.
