Terms of Reference

Bearing in mind the need to educate every section of the public in the dangers of narcotics addiction; to make known the facilities available for treatment; and to co-ordinate the publicity efforts of Government and the voluntary agencies in the anti-narcotics field to the best effect:
1 To make proposals for the consideration of ACAN about the general policies to be followed to achieve these aims and the work programmes it envisages to implement policies recommended.
2 To initiate action in conjunction with the Narcotics Division and the Government Informa- tion Services, to implement policies and work programmes approved by ACAN, and to monitor their effectiveness.
3 To report to ACAN on the effectiveness of education and publicity projects undertaken.
