om Hong Kong Airport for Tokyo. A total of 0.9425 kilogramme of methyl-amphetamine hydro- chloride was discovered concealed inside their underpants. A further 0.4703 kilogramme of ephedrine hydrochloride, a Part I Poison, was also discovered in the hollowed out soles and heels of Fung's shoes. Fung and Yu were charged with 'Possession of Dangerous Drugs for the Purpose of Unlawful Trafficking'. Each was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment and fined $10,000. Additionally Fung was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment, to run concurrently, on a charge of 'Possession of Part I (CE/109/75/76/77)

57 On 12th September, 1977, two Chinese males, Yan Chi-wai (3914/1807/0251) and SIN Siu-yuen (8112/4801/3293) were arrested by Customs and Excise Officers at Hong Kong Airport as they were about to board a flight to Tokyo. A total of 1.9169 kilogrammes of methylamphetamine hydrochloride was found strapped to each of their legs. Both were jointly charged with 'Possession of Dangerous Drugs for the Purpose of Unlawful Trafficking'. The case is still pending.

Cannabis

58 On 11th November, 1977, Narcotics Bureau received information that a North American male was attempting to sell a quantity of cannabis. A Narcotics Bureau Officer, posing as a potential buyer was introduced to the male and subsequently Wesley Grant REYNOLDS, a Canadian citizen, was arrested inside the coffee shop of Hong Kong hotel when in possession of 0.321 kilogramme of can- nabis.

59 He pleaded guilty to "Trafficking in Dangerous Drugs' in District Court and was bound over in the sum of $500-HK for a period of 2 years. Further it was recommended that he be deported from Hong Kong. This has since been effected.
