32 On 11th November, 1977, Customs and Excise Officers searched the m.v. 'TAI LUNG SHA. on her arrival from Bangkok. As a result, 0.6812 kilogramme of prepared opium was found inside a drainage pipe and hollowed out wooden frames inside the engine room. No arrest was made.

33 On 24th November, 1977, Customs and Excise Officers discovered 1.554 kilogrammes of prepared opium concealed inside heaps of cattle dung aboard the m.v. "TAI LUNG SHAN' on her arrival from Bangkok. No arrest was made.
(CE/110/200/77) 34 The m.v. 'TAI LUNG SHAN' arrived from Bangkok on 11th December, 1977, and was subjected to a routine search by Customs and Excise Officers. Two morphine blocks, dissected into 14 slabs, weighing some 3.1519 kilogrammes were discovered in the hollow portion of the cross-tree at the top of the mast. No arrest was made.
(CE/110/206/77) 35 On 23rd December, 1977, a routine search of the m.v. 'TAI CHUNG SHAN' by Customs and Excise Officers led to the discovery of 0.5849 kilogramme of No. 3 heroin, and 0.6005 kilogramme of prepared opium. No arrest was made.

Manufacturing
36 In the early morning of 9th November, 1977, following a protracted investigation and surveillance operation, Narcotics Bureau Officers raided two adjoining premises situated at Flats A and B, 67E, Waterloo Road, 25th floor, Kowloon City.
37 Four Chinese males LEE Pui-leung (2621/1014/7893), LEE Chun-kwai (2621/2304/2145), Lee Kwai-kam (2621/2710/6855) and Hur Chow (6079/0719) were arrested inside the premises. A large quantity of No. 3 heroin (19.99 kilogrammes) was seized in a bedroom of one of the flats, along with 2 gas masks and a quantity of paraphernalia normally associated with the manufacture of heroin. In the same flat the toilet and bath tub contained a large quantity of partially manufactured heroin which, it is believed, the manufacturers had attempted to flush away when the flat was raided.
