HONG KONG: CORRUPTION AND THE POLICE
SPEAKING NOTE
There have been no disturbances in Hong Kong involving th Royal Hong Kong Police Force since the events in early November. The partial amnesty from corruption investigations announced at that time related only to certain offences committed prior to 1 January 1977. The independent Commission Against Corruption remains as vigorous and determined as ever in its campaign to eradicate corruption from all sectors of Hong Kong public life.
