I have received a letter dated 8 March 1978 from the Attorney General requiring me to reopen the Coroner's inquiry held on 27 September (1977) into the cause of the death of LIU Ping-hɔn. The letter says that certain persons are to be called as witnesses.

The jury was discharged at the conclusion of the inquiry and one of the then jurors is now no longer resident in this Colony and is therefore disqualified for jury service. It appears to me, therefore, that I must treat this as an adjourned enquiry and begin again with a new jury.

To avoid confusion, the file for the new enquiry will be numbered 33A/77(HK)
