Tel.12-662735, 12-663499. 25th November, 1977.

Sirs,

As stated in G.N. 2609, your department intends to build a road in D.D. 7,C.R.P. 1047, Tai Po. This road will intersect my kennels from my dwell- ing house and require the elimination of my house altogether. In consideration of my heavy losses, I hereby raise objection to your proposal.

My "Tai Fo Kennels" have been set up for more than 10 years since 1966. The kennels were built by me originally in a Tau Village. By working hard daily on training dogs for others, I managed to save up some money several years ago for the purchase of the existing site for erecting a dwelling-house and kennels with the approval of the Agriculture & Fisheries Department and the District Office.

Now that I have just settled down, your department's road construction proposal will make me unable to carry on my business for the subsistence of my family. (Even the existing area is insufficient for my use. ) I therefore make the following suggestion and should be grateful for your consideration of its practicability.

Please refer to the attached plan and see if the proposed road (as shown hatched purple) can be moved to the South-east by 60 to 70 feet, so that it can be connected to the existing village path without affecting my dwelling house. By so doing, the Goverment does not have to pay a sum of compensation for the acquisition of private land. It must also be considered that as the number of cars entering our village is limited, there is no need for the construction of such a wide road as proposed by Government.

I hope that your capable engineersand tir. Willcocks will consider my suggestion and devise a construction plan that will satisfy all concerned.

Yours faithfully,

Lal Kwok Fui,

Owner of D.D. 7, C.R.P. 1047
