It is recommended that the objections referred to in paragraphs 4 to 19 above should not be upheld and that the proposed undertaking illustrated on the plans at Annexes A and B should be authorised to proceed without modification.

Should the proposed undertaking be authorised by this Council, a notification of the authorisation together with a description of the undertaking will be published in the Gazette.

Advice Sought

Honourable Members are asked to advise, under section 6(1) of the Streets (Alteration) Ordinance (Chapter 130), whether the proposed undertaking illustrated on the plans at Annexes A and B should be authorised without modification.

(The Principal Government Highway Engineer (Acting) (Mr FONG Chun-nam) and the District Officer, Tai Po (Mr P. E. JOHNSON) will attend before the Council for the discussion of this item).
