An Ordinance to amend the Inland Revenue Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and

consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Inland Revenue (Amend- Short title and ment) Ordinance 1978 and shall come into operation on a day to be commencement. appointed by the Governor by notice in the Gazette.

2. Section 28 of the principal Ordinance is amended-

Amendment of section 28.

(a) in paragraph (a) of the proviso to subsection (1) by deleting (Cap. 112.)

"a rate not exceeding such rate or rates as may be specified in the Fourth Schedule" and substituting the following-

"such rate or rates, not exceeding 5 per cent per annum, as the Financial Secretary may specify by notice in the Gazette";

(b) in subsection (2) by deleting "and the Fourth Schedule, but the Fourth Schedule shall not be amended so as to specify a rate in excess of 5 per cent per annum”.

3. The Fourth Schedule to the principal Ordinance is deleted.
