zoning plans published by the Town Planning Board.
The good response demonstrates the importance which
the public attributes to the future development of
the Victoria Barracks land and in this connection
the Committee welcomed the many constructive comments
made by the press. It is possible that the use of
a "Layout Plan" instead of a zoning plan might have
helped spur public reaction. On the other hand,
this plan with its illustrated development was taken
by some members of the public to be the Committee's
architectural planning proposals for the barracks
area whereas the Committee had only aimed at the
production of a land use zoning plan.
