Commenting on the announcement, the Secretary

for the Environment, Mr. Derek Jones, expressed the

Government's appreciation of the valuable contribution

made by the Victoria Barracks Planning Committee, many

of whose idea, he said, had been embodied in the final

plan. The Planning Committee's final report will be

published for public information very shortly.
