(gc) the erection, with the approval of the

Commissioner for Transport and the Director

of Public Works, of road barriers and signs

on restricted roads;

(gd), the impounding and removal of vehicles, the

storage of such vehicles, and prescribing

charges therefor;".

Explanatory Memorandum

This Bill seeks to empower the Housing Authority

to provide car parks, and parking places on restricted

roads (as defined in clause 2), in housing estates and

to control their use. Clause 3 therefore amends

section 4(2) of the principal Ordinance to give the

necessary powers to the Authority and powers to fix and

collect parking fees.

Certain roads in housing estates will be

designated as restricted roads by the Authority, with

the approval of the Commissioner for Transport and the

Director of Public Works, and the entry of vehicles

to, or the parking of vehicles on, such restricted roads

will be restricted to vehicles owned or used by the

persons specified in the new section 25A. Any vehicle which

is parked illegally on a restricted road or in a car park
