5.7.1 that an owner of building land,
whether or not he proposes to accept
Letter B terms, should be given the
opportunity to refer the valuation
of his land to the Lands Tribunal;

that a landowner who lives in a house
on his own land in building status
should be offered reasonable rehousing
by the Government if he is unable to
solve his own rehousing problem; and
that the various ex-gratia compensation
rates on clearance should be continuously
reviewed to ensure their adequacy to
compensate for the various legitimate
uses to which building land is put.
The Working Group considers that these three
conditions are reasonable and proposes accordingly that
they should be adopted as the recommendations of the
Working Group.
Updating the Compensation and Credit Rates

In its earliest discussions, the Working Group
recognised that one of the principal shortcomings of the
existing system was the lack of a regular review, and that
