I am sorry to say that there was a mistake in one of the figures given in my reply to your Question of 8 May about the repatriation of illegal immigrants seeking to enter Hong Kong from the People's Republic of China. I quoted the figure of 7,150 for those repatriated in 1974. This was in fact the figure for those detained while trying to enter Hong Kong illegally. But since the repatriation policy was not introduced until November of that year, the figure for those repatriated was only 223.
