6 bodies, believed to be those of illegal immigrants drowned whilst attempting entry, were recovered from the sea during the month (2 in the western sector, 1 in the southern sector and 3 in the northern sector).

The cumulative total of illegal immigrants arrested by or surrendered to the Police and the Army since 1 January 1968 is now 31,757. The yearly totals are as follows:-

The figure of illegal immigrants interviewed and accepted as having evaded controls since 30 November 1974 is 16,754. The ratio of interceptions against evasions is now 1:3.98.

Macao

12 illegal immigrants were referred to this department by the Marine Police during the month. 2 were repatriated to Macao and the other 10 are still being processed. In addition, 2 illegal immigrants arrested in previous months were repatriated to Macao during the month.

Since November 1975, the total of illegal immigrants interviewed and accepted as having entered from Macao is 1,676. Of these 181 were arrested, 1, 223 surfaced through ROP claiming illegal entry from Macao and 272 surfaced through ROP falsely claiming illegal entry from elsewhere.
