In-Charge of the Aided Schools Section, said that the memorand
was of great help to their investigation because the Mother Su-
perior, Sister Wu, had only informed them that there were irre-
gularities in the school account books without indicating where
the irregularities lay. The detailed information supplied by
the teachers became the basis for their (and later the police's)
investigation.
It was after Sister Siu's announcement in the morning
assembly of June 8 that the teachers and students first learnt
of the fact that the investigation conducted by the Education
Department had been completed and the case turned over to the
Legal Department who would decide whether any further action
was necessary

that the case had been passed to the Commercial Crimes Bureau.
During the summer vacation, some of the janitor staff, as well
as the bookkeeper, were interviewed by people from the Commercial
Crimes Bureau. However, no teaching staff and students had been

On October 6, the Star Daily first reported that the
Commercial Crimes Bureau was about to complete its investigations
concerning the alleged financial irregularities of the school.
