(iii) The Students' Union

In October 1976, Sister Leung declared the formation of

the Students' Union and the constitution was presented to all the

students in a weekly assembly.

Since then, all the activities had

been organized, timed and conducted by the students themselves with

three teachers as advisers.

(iv) Weekly Assembly

There was an assembly held every week for all students.

The topics presented in the assembly were carefully selected by all

the teachers of the school, taking into consideration the interests

and needs of the students. The topics varied from serious to

amusing; academic to artistic; social to religious. There were

also topics on current affairs. Very often, speakers from all walks

of life were invited. After the speech, the students were encouraged

to raise questions on the points they doubted and they would not

hesitate to make outspoken comments on other people's ideas. Most

of the weekly assemblies, together with all other activities, aimed

at cultivating good knowledge, human integrity, concern for others, sense of justice and the abilities to organize and maintain self-

discipline.

The Gradual Growth of the School

Through the hard work of the teachers, the school

gradually built up a good reputation. The 3 Teachers' Training

and the School of Education of the Chinese University of Hong Kong Colleges of Hong Kong/had time and again arranged visits for their students to the school. Many of the lecturers expressed their ap- preciation of the teachers' teaching methods, the initiative of the

students and teacher-student participation,
