1. I enclose a copy of a letter, together with its enclosures, that we have received from the British Council for Aid to Lefugees about Ir Chong and family.
2. The Chong family were among the refugees rescued by the S Wellpark and brought to this country. Ar Chong claims to have a wife and two children, as well as other relatives, in Hong Kong and would like to be reunited with them. Since the family in long Kong is apparently well established, he and his daughters would like to join them there.
3. r Chong claims to have applied previously for a visa for Hong Kong, while he was still in Vietnam. However, contrary to the statement in the interview report, he does not have copies of any earlier correspondence nor, he claims, does he know the result of that application.
4. I would normally be loath to ask you to add to your already considerable burden of Vietnamese refugees but if it is indeed Mr Chong's wife in Hong Kong then he would seem to be eligible, and presumably so would his daughters, for a visa to enter Hong Kong.
5.
I should be grateful for your views.
