This

Mr Chong and his 2 daughters have requested resettlement in Hong Kong to join Mr. Chong's wife and two other children and two sisters and their families who are all apparently well established in Hong Kong. family is of Chinese origin and we understand that the wife and children do not wish to join the husband in the U.K. For the sake of family re-union I would like to put a strong plea for an exception to be made in this case to enable Mr. Chong and his two daughters to be admitted for settlement in Hong Kong. Perhaps the Hong Kong authorities would agree if Britain undertakes to accept a substantial number of Boat People from Hong Kong.

I enclose the UNHCR Resettlement Registration form for this case as Mr. Heidler suggested that this should be submitted through the Foreign Office. I should be most grateful for your help in this case.

Yours sincerely
