For the 394 companies which did not have an equivalent scheme,

44.1% expressed interest of joining the government scheme. Another 44.1%.

said that they did not know. 8.9% said that they would provide such

benefits through insurance companies. 2.8% suggested other schemes.

For those which intended to join the government scheme,

14.4% gave the first reason, 44.3% gave the second, 34.5% the third,

Considering the scheme ought to be compulsory, 40.4%

of the employers felt that the scheme should not be compulsory on the

part of employees. 7.1% felt strongly against this. 16.7% were in-

different, while 22.9% agreed that the scheme should be compulsory and

12.9% strongly agreed that this scheme should be made compulsory.
