The Victoria Road Memorial was duly re- dedicated in a brief ceremony, which also marked the end of Silver Jubilee Year in Hong Kong, on Thursday 22 December 1977.

The Queen's message was read out at the ceremony and a copy of the text of the message was included in the time capsule.
