Restrictions on night work
No woman shall be employed between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.
Women shift workers may work at night with the approval of the Minister of Labour. Where a woman has worked a night shift she must have 11 hours' consecutive rest be- fore she can resume work the following day.
Chldren under 14 years are not permitted to work between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m.
Young persons aged 14 and 15 are not permitted to work between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.
No woman shall be employed between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. in industrial undertakings and between midnight and 6 a.m. in non- industrial undertakings.
The law is silent as regards night work for children and young persons below
18 years of age.

No woman, child (aged 12-13) or young person Employment Act, 1968 (aged 14-15) shall be employed in any kind
of work during the night or any part thereof. "Night" means a period of not less than eleven consecutive hours including the interval between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. The Minister of Labour may permit the employ- ment of women in any kind of labour for reasons of public interest or increasing the efficiency of industry.
No child (aged 12 to 15) shall be employed between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. except where the child is an actor in a motion picture or play or other show business of similar nature.
No woman shall be employed between midnight and 6 a.m. except for work of such nature that it must be performed continuously or in shifts, or between these hours.
