Normal hours of work

Eight hours a day or 48 hours a week.

For health personnel in large cities (with a population of 1 million or more):

Eight hours a day or 40 hours a week.

Labour Code, 1974. The provisions on working conditions and Rest Periods are applicable to employees in all establishments and under- takings, whether for profit or not, but not to government employees, managerial employees, field personnel, members of the family of the employer who are dependent on him for support, dome stic helpers, persons in the personal service of another, and workers who are paid by results as determined by the Secretary of Labour in appropriate regulations.

Singapore

Eight hours a day or 44 hours a week.

For children (aged 12 and 13 years):

Six hours a day, including school hours.

For young persons (aged 14 and 15 years):

Seven hours a day, including school hours.

Employment Act, 1968. Provisions of Part IV (Rest Days, Hours of Work, Holidays and other Conditions of Service) apply to all employees whose earnings. do not exceed $750 a month.
