You will wish to know that we have consulted Government departments concerned with the Conventions and the Labour Advisory Board's Sub-Committee on the Implementation of International Labour Standards (which has been set up to comply with the provisions of ILO Convention No. 144 - Tripartite Consultations to Promote the Implementation of International Labour Standards).

Our examination of Convention No. 120 : Hygiene (Commerce and Offices) is continuing, and I will let you have our conclusion in due course.

Incidentally we do not have information on how these three Conventions are applied and enforced in the United Kingdom. It would be most useful for our future reference if you could send us some detailed documents on these subjects although the circumstances in the United Kingdom and in Hong Kong may be somewhat different.
