Mr Ronald Atkins (Preston North): To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, if he is satisfied that the employment ordinance in Hong Kong giving all workers seven days annual vacation leave and one day's leave in seven is being observed by all employers.

The rest days are being generally observed.
Employers have until the end of 1978 to grant the 7 days' annual vacation leave. But there are no grounds to believe that significant problems will arise over the enforcement of these provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
